John LaChance

ESPN, Director, Remote Production Operations

John LaChance, the director of ESPN's remote production operations, leads the technical and logistical team overseeing ESPN’s college football coverage. The company’s current line-up includes nearly 800 games annually across all ESPN properties.

Before rejoining the ESPN/ABC family in 2008, LaChance ran one of the Midwest’s top corporate entertainment and production firms for 13 years. With over two decades of operational experience, LaChance specializes in technical production and oversight of large scale sporting and entertainment events. He has coordinated the technical management for a host of marquee events including Super Bowl XL, the former Bowl Championship Series, and each of ESPN’s College Football Playoff (CFP) runs featuring some of the most-watched cable events in U.S. history.

LaChance is a twelve time Emmy nominee for his work on various ESPN projects and was part of the team that brought home the Emmy statue this past year for Outstanding Trans-Media Sports coverage for the CFP’s Megacast.

Raised in Michigan, LaChance graduated from Central Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree double majoring in broadcast arts and journalism. A devoted history buff and college football fan, he currently resides in Burlington, Connecticut.
