Troy Ewanchyna

NBC Sports, VP and GM,

Troy Ewanchyna was named the vice president and general manager of in January 2015. In this position, he oversees day-to-day management for many NBC Sports Digital assets including:, Rotoworld, and NBC Sports Talk franchises. He reports to Rick Cordella, the senior vice president and general manager of digital media at NBC Sports Group.

Previously, Ewanchyna served as the vice president of business development and digital strategies for NBC Sports Group, driving digital growth and partnerships across NBC Sports, NBC Olympics, Golf, and NBC Sports Group Regional Network assets. He led successful negotiations for digital business opportunities, including partnerships with Yahoo!, Facebook, Twitter, NFL (acquiring rights to first-ever Super Bowl streaming), and the London and Sochi Olympic Games.

Prior to joining NBC Sports Group, Ewanchyna served as the vice president of digital strategy for Comcast Sports Group. He was responsible for developing multi-platform strategies for the company’s regional sports networks.

Before joining Comcast, Ewanchyna had 14 years of business development and marketing experience in sports, media, and technology. Previously, he was the director of new media business development with the National Hockey League, where he developed a league-wide online content distribution strategy and negotiated partnership agreements with then-emerging companies such as YouTube, Apple iTunes, Hulu, and Sling Media.

Ewanchyna served on the leadership team at NHL Network, at the time a digital television channel in Canada, where he was the first and only business operations executive in charge of running the network at the company’s inception. He also served in senior marketing and product management positions at ALK Technologies, a mapping software and GPS navigation company serving both commercial and consumer markets.

Ewanchyna holds a graduate master’s degree in sport management from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Princeton University, where he was captain of the varsity ice hockey team and played on the golf team. Ewanchyna currently serves as the president of the Princeton University Hockey Association Friend’s Group and advises for Ryerson University’s Sport Management program. He and his wife, Lisa, live in Lawrenceville, N.J., with their three children.
